Sump Pumping in Tacoma, Seattle, Bellevue, Kent & Everett

Sump Pumping

Regulatory attention to storm water issues change constantly. Catch basins, oil water separators, sumps and piping that discharge into Puget Sound or any of it’s tributary rivers and streams, are increasingly recognized as points where sediment and contaminants can be trapped and recovered before they reach sensitive waters.

Certified Cleaning Services, Inc. (CCS) sump pumping services help to clean and remove contaminants that could be harmful to the clean and beautiful Washington state water systems.

CCS Sump Pumping services will periodically remove sediment and sludge from catch basins, detention facilities or oil water separators using vacuum trucks. Plugged or clogged drains and piping can be cleaned using a combination of vacuum trucks and high pressure water. The best time to perform sump pumping is in the fall and spring, immediately before and after the storm season. Maintaining clean storm water facilities with sump pumping will help prevent back ups and flooding as well as protect water quality.

Best Management Practices

Best Management Practices

Certified Cleaning Services, Inc. complies with the Best Management Practices for storm water issued by the EPA.

The EPA issues Best Management Practices (BMP) to administer the Clean Water Act. The EPA defines storm water Best Management Practices (BMPs) as:

“A BMP is a technique, process, activity, or structure used to reduce the pollutant content of a storm water discharge. BMPs include simple nonstructural methods, such as good housekeeping and preventive maintenance. BMPs may also include structural modifications, such as the installation of bioretention measures. BMPs are most effective when used in combination with each other, and customized to meet the specific needs (drainage, materials, activities, etc.) of a given operation. The focus of EPA’s general permits is on preventive BMPs, which limit the release of pollutants into storm water discharges. BMPs can also function as treatment controls.”

To be in compliance with current storm water Best Management Practices (BMP), property and business owners should inspect and maintain all such structures on their property. CCS technicians are trained in storm water Best Management Practices.
